The Sunday Section

Still feel like a second hand doughnut this morn, still it could be raining, Oh crap it is, back to bed I think.

First up:

Cannon Fodder

A US Policeman has been charged with felony menacing for allegedly brandishing his gun at a McDonald's restaurant after getting tired of waiting for his food.

Derrick Curtis, 29, also faces charges of prohibited use of a weapon, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.

An employee at the Aurora restaurant told investigators that two Denver police officers were waiting for their food at the drive-through window May 21 when one grew impatient and pulled his gun.

No one was injured.

Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson told The Denver Post that Saunders had been suspended with pay andwould be put on unpaid leave once the department is formally notified of the charges.

I think if I found myself in a “Big Mac” queue and was lucky enough to have a gun, I would shoot myself.

Orgy outrage

Ayia Napa in Cyprus is up in arms, it seems that tourists are indulging in “wild sex orgies” while out cruising on local ferries, Photographs documenting the sexual escapades of groups of young tourists to the island's popular resort of Ayia Napa were printed in the Norwegian press, following similar claims involving British and Scandinavian holidaymakers in 2006.

Once a sleepy fishing village, Ayia Napa is popular with families for its pristine beaches but since 2000 has gained a reputation as a clubber's paradise, attracting hoards of young partygoers.

Giorgos Economou, a local police spokesman, told Reuters that similar stories about such cruises surfaced every year in the foreign press.

"The boats are checked every day by the port police and no evidence has been found as yet to suggest such activities are going on."

"But we wouldn't be able stop them when they're in the middle of the open seas doing their business," Economou said.

Story of my life, wrong place………..

What a load of Bulls

The Bontekoe brothers of Deerfield Township Mich, have managed to breed two dairy steers with a combined weight of more than 3,300 pounds, the Livingston County Daily Press & Argus of Howell reported in an article published Friday.

Nester, a dairy steer raised by Jack, 16, tipped the scales at 2,157 pounds. That's far above the typical weight of 1,600 pounds.

"I'm eye-level with his back," Jack said. "He was a large calf when me and my dad pulled him."
A midget Holstein named Midge was 10-year-old Cal's creature, weighing in at 1,177 pounds.

The brothers, whose family owns a dairy farm with 300 cattle, entered the steers in the Fowlerville Family Fair through a 4-H club, hoping to take home grand champion and reserve awards for livestock.

They didn't win - Jack said the judge called his steer "too big" and Midge was deemed "too beefy-looking."

"I just like having him," Cal said of Midge. "It's really a good feeling."

And it wasn't a total loss. Nester could be sold for slaughter at $1 a pound, netting Jack more than $2,000.

"It's tough to see them leave, but you get used to it," he said.

Not that attached to them then.

It’s raining it’s, well drizzling

We are all used to Drizzle, we just put a coat on and take the umbrella, but not in Chile; The port of Iquique was deluged by 2mm of “rain” last Monday, and buffeted by 10 mph winds.

The result was that power failed In several neighbourhoods and 4000 houses had their roofs damaged, Schools were closed Tuesday so that officials can repair the damage.

The city of 170,000 people in northern Chile is in the heart of the barren Atacama Desert, squeezed between the Andes and the Pacific Ocean. It averages about 0.02 inch (0.6 millimetres) of rain a year, according to University of Chile meteorologists.

Houses in the region are not built to resist rain and their roofs often have no slope for runoff.
Lucky for some.

That’s yer lot for today, I’m off to bed.
